The goals of achieving a gender-equal world requires social innovations that work equally well for both the genders. Everyone needs equal opportunities to evolve into a balanced society. Tangible initiatives aimed at Balance for Better are been taken at a global level .
Some of us are lucky enough to be the part of the privileged section; our up-bringing is so struggle free. We have received constant support of our family and the people around us. Our loved ones have been so supportive that we never had to face the hardships of life.
However, not everyone is as lucky as the few of us. Some don’t have the privileges to learn evolve while others don’t have the to so. The problem is not only in the lower sections of the society; women from the educated class are not allowed to express themselves and be at par with their male counterparts.
Government, NGOs and groups will keep taking initiatives, but are those initiatives really helping the underprivileged? We can still see that a majority of women around are still living in a male dominated society. Some of them have accepted it as their fate while others are struggling hard to bring a change in their life
But what are we doing for them as one of the privileged women? Most of us are simply ignoring them as no one wants to get involved into someone troubles. What could we do on our part to make their life a better version of their present life?
On this Women’s Day, let us start a resolution of helping women in our surrounding. Not by money, but by helping them realise their potential and giving them opportunity of learning, growing and earning by their own.
Meet our team of leaders who have been working at par or even more than their male counterparts. They face their own share of challenges and reached at a point where they can make a difference in the society.
Meet Aashima: “My Journey from being a Girl to become a Lady has been fantastic. It is very hard to be a girl and do every possible thing. Almost all the people around us believe on the fact that Men are blessed with Strength and on the other Hand, we as Women had to work very hard in addition to the regular schedules at our home, workplace, outside the home to stand equally with men and show that women are equally capable, you just need a little bit of motivation and support.
The journey being a single girl child was very difficult, but I had strong faith in me that I will be the successful women one day. I appreciate my mother’s effort in handling everything alone after my dad’s death.
Now, I have been married, I feel blessed and lucky as my family (In Law’s Side) is also supporting me in everything. Special thanks to my husband, he is the one who is there with me in every situation and my parents for trusting my capabilities & believing in my dreams.
With their Never-Ending support and blessings, I will be able to fulfill my dreams. They are my biggest strength.
To All the Women Out There, My Message to all of you would be only, “Walk Straight Down to your Path where you wish/desire to walk on, Have Faith in yourselves.” And Yes, See Dreams. And Walk towards them.”
Meet Nimisha: “I never faced such struggles as my parents always supported me every possible manner. My goals were clear, and opportunities came by. I just focused on what I was supposed to do. My mother never got such opportunities, but she dreamt of me doing things that she could not.
However, the society was never supportive of the plans my family had for myself and I faced challenges to be a par with the males in my field of education and work. The feeling of accomplishment after overcoming those challenges is nothing less than a victory. Now it my time to give it back to the society; I am associated with multiple NGOs that provide food, clothes and education to the less privileged. I hope this small initiative will someday bring a significant difference in someone’s life.”
Meet Deepali: “I am a happy-go-luck type of woman. My parents and husband are so supportive. I to thank my parents for making me realize what I am and am capable of, for giving me the strength that I required to pursue my dreams and for believing that I have the necessary skills and capability to accomplish my goals. My parents are the actual reason for my success in my career and without them I would be nothing. Also, I just wanted to thank my husband for making me feel like the luckiest woman in the world every single day. I married the best husband in the world, and I thank God that He made it happen. I never felt support less and I am very blessed to have such a wonderful parents and husband in my life, thank you God.
Being a woman myself, it really feels nice to have a special day for women too when they can be appreciated and honoured. But I feel that woman should be respected not just because they are women, but also because they are individuals with their own identity. They contribute equally to the betterment of the society. Whenever I get a chance of helping a girl or women, I always take the initiative to do the same.”
Meet Deepti Tayal: “I would like to share a real-life story of how I took initiatives to bring about a difference in someone’s life. I have a poor family in my neighbourhood where females were not allowed to go out and do jobs. Hence, I advised the lady to teach kids in neighbourhood as she was well educated. By this, she could also earn pretty good money. Few years back she started this and now she owns a coaching centre and every time she meets me her face is always filled with proud and happiness and she always shares her success with me. My little advice made her realise her potential and turned around her life.
Sometimes showing the right path and being a support for someone works wonders. You don’t have to provide monetary help always. You never know, what changes your support could bring. Being a support in any way could be helpful in growing the other. Your effort will make the other person as well as you feel happy and good about yourself.”
Ingenious – “Let us take a Pledge of helping at least 5 women around us to counter their challenges and grow to become a support for themselves and their family and bring about a change in the society,” because,
“There is no limit to what we as women, can accomplish”
– Michelle Obama
