In a collaboration, Carl Zeiss Meditec and Precise Bio formed a cooperation to create and market artificial corneal tissue for use in patients who require endothelial keratoplasty and natural lenticule transplants to treat keratoconus and vision correction. The businesses will collaborate to create 4D bio-fabricated corneal transplants for natural lenticule and endothelial keratoplasty conditions. The technology has the potential to advance treatment options for corneal disease, as well as for elective procedures – further enabling optimization of patient care that can lead to improvement of vision and can reduce treatment burden and retinal thickness variability.
