Toyota will supply its fuel cell modules to European truck company Hyliko

Hyliko will equip Toyota fuel cells to power its new range of hydrogen-fueled trucks. The French start-up plans to launch two hydrogen-fueled vehicles, a 26-tonne rigid and a 44-tonne tractor, using the automaker’s powertrain technology.
Hyliko unveiled its first vehicle in the month of February, which would be built on a retrofitted Renault Trucks chassis, and a hydrogen fuel cell system will replace its entire gasoline unit. Ovarith Troeung—CEO of Hyliko—stated that Toyota fuel cell modules are known for their reliability and performance. Hence, these modules would be the key components in the design & construction of Hyliko’s upcoming hydrogen trucks.
The adoption of Toyota fuel cell modules will broaden Toyota Motor Europe’s existing portfolio of hydrogen partners across diverse sectors. These heavy-duty commercial vehicles fitted with Toyota’s fuel cell technology will accelerate the hydrogen ecosystem development in Europe.
